This tough hike is for braggin’ rights folks!
We’ll start on the C&O side of the trestle footbridge in Maryland and walk the AT to the Southern border of Harpers Ferry, NHP.  Just beyond the border, we’ll set foot in Virginia before starting our descent (thank goodness) back to the park.  Along the way we’ll talk some history, some nature and some trivia.
Hike co-leaders are park volunteers Pam Hayba and Dave Cahan. Pam and Dave hike the park's 25 miles of trails frequently and are familiar with the historic and natural features of each.
Approximately 7 miles round trip, rated Moderate to difficult, approximately 4.5 hours, and 1200ft elevation gain with areas of uneven rocky, icy and muddy footing.

Meet on the C&O canal side of the footbridge. Bring lunch or snacks and water. We also require masks if you are not yet fully vaccinated or if social distaning cannot be maintained to keep our guides and visitors safe.
