Theodore Roosevelt will long be remembered as one of America's first champions of preservation. Many of his conservation thoughts were formulated during his stay in the Badlands of North Dakota. Vividly portrayed are the desert and valleys, ravines and plateaus, prairies and rolling hills. Scattered band of buffalo, white tailed deer, prairie dogs, and big-horned sheep are captured in magnificent photography.

Running time: 14 minutes. The bonus film on this DVD is Maxidiwiac, the moving account of Buffalo-Bird woman from the Hidatsa tribe.
