Join host and Walker's Guide author David Gilbert as we hike from C&O Canal Lock 31 up to Weverton Cliffs on the Appalachian Trail.
 
See first-hand the three 19th century routes to Harpers Ferry that passed right through Weverton: the Harpers Ferry & Frederick Turnpike, C&O Canal, and B&O Railroad. Learn about Casper Wever and his big plans for water-powered industry here. And finally, climb the steep slopes of South Mountain to Weverton Cliffs for a stunning view of the Potomac River as it winds through the Blue Ridge Mountains.
 
This hike is approximately 3 hours round-trip with a steep climb up to Weverton Cliffs.
