The basic membership tier for those who wish to support Harpers Ferry National Historical Park and the mission of the Park Association.Industry and nature collided at Harpers Ferry. War and floods ruined industry, but nature rebounded, inspiring this town’s resilience. The peregrine falcon (“peregrine” meaning pilgrim or wanderer) came close to extinction by the 1970s. Thanks to the efforts of conservationists and the National Park Service, these magnificent birds also rebounded, and currently wander back to the cliffside of Maryland Heights in the spring and early summer. We thank all of our members who wander back to Harpers Ferry to see us!Member Benefits:15% discount on every item in the park bookshop, every dayDiscount at national park shops around the countryDiscounted tickets and early registration for unique fundraisers like our Historic Cocktails WorkshopDiscounted admission and early registration for educational workshops like our blacksmith, painting, and candy-making programsSubscription to The View, our quarterly newsletter featuring events, volunteer opportunities, and researched articlesInvitation to Annual Membership Meeting and PicnicTax-deductible membership dues and giving opportunitiesAdditional members-only sales throughout the yearMonthly e-newsletter with the most up-to-date information on events in Harpers FerryA special pin and decal for first-time members

Family Membership for those who frequently explore the park with their children or furbabies. The Marmion family could have “skedaddled” when war came to Harpers Ferry in 1861, but Dr. Nicholas Marion, his wife Lydia, and 8 of their 14 children remained. Daughter Annie, 8 years old at the time of war, later wrote a manuscript that provided historians a valuable account of the trials faced by civilians during the war. While braving threats of starvation and bombardment, Dr. Marmion cared for civilians, soldiers, and contraband slaves. Sustaining Membership for individuals or businesses in support of the preservation of Harpers Ferry’s history, architecture, culture, and natural resources. The rivers and mountains at Harpers Ferry have empowered and imperiled its occupants for centuries. The rivers brought settlers here, kept Robert Harper here, and convinced George Washington that Harpers Ferry was “the most eligible spot on the Patowmack River” for a federal armory. The rivers brought John Brown, Lee and McClellan, and millions of visitors who seek history, knowledge, and recreation.
